QD Bids a Fond Farewell to Retiring Distribution Manager Lee joined the company back in 1987 as Distribution Manager, based at the time at QD's Gorleston store. He held this position at many different locations throughout the expansion of the company prior to moving to the new all purpose Distribution Centre in Snetterton which opened in 1999. QD's Marketing Manager, Alan Hatcher, paid tribute to Lee's long and dedicated service to the company. "Lee has seen many changes over the years, particularly in the last twelve months during which time QD has added eight new stores to its empire. Lee has played a key role in supporting the company's growth and will be missed by his colleagues at the Snetterton centre and across the company as a whole. We all wish him a very long and happy retirement with the time now to pursue his many and varied hobbies." Lee has set a precedent in his managerial role at the Distribution Centre. He is succeeded by his namesake, Lee Thursting, who was appointed in December 2009. The centre's haulage is provided by Foulger Transport whose fleet serves the Group's high street stores and its chain of Cherry Lane Garden Centres. It also supplies goods to the Group's Buyright superstore in Suffolk, and Lathams, QD's fishing specialist division in Potter Heigham on the Norfolk Broads.
